DIY Water Color Mug

Add a splash of color into your morning routine. Most people start there morning with a mug of coffee or tea, so why not jazz it up with a water color mug. Instead of going out and buying one just take a white mug you have lying around and some nail polish with water and voila a water color mug.

What you need

♡ white mug
♡ nail polish
♡ water
♡ bowl
♡ nail polish remover (just if you make a mistake)

 What To Do

Take your bowl and fill it with water. Then take the nail polish of your choice and drop a few drops on the water, don't let the brush touch the water. Then take your mug and place it into the water. You need to do this fast because the nail polish dries fast.

Once you get the desired colors then leave your mug out to dry. I left it for about 6 hours just to make sure that is was completely dry. Do not put the mug in the dishwasher just hand wash it.

Reminiscing of teal water and sunny days

Cold, rain, wind and no sun that doesn't mean summer in my books. Basically where i'm from its been nothing but horrible weather and cold temperatures. By cold temperatures I mean I went to bed with fleece pyjamas the other day, I can count on a single hand how many times i've worn shorts and our temperature was colder then the North Pole. Like seriously colder then the north pole that just crazy. So I decided since I got no sun, heat or a tan i'll throw it back to April/May when I went on a vacation with my family.

A trip that I will never forget. Recently I went on a trip with my family as a graduation gift, it was our last real family vacation as I will be moving out and me and my brother are both growing up. We went on a cruise of the Western Caribbean. We visited Jamaica, Haiti, Mexico and Cayman Islands. It was a trip of a lifetime as I have never been on a cruise ship. I want to go back on a cruise so bad, its the way to travel because there are so many activities to do on the ship so you are never board, and every day you are in a new place you can explore. This vacation has brought my family closer and we have made so many awesome memories.  People from all over the world are on the cruise you meet tons of new people and meet people from where you are also. Here is a few pics from our vacation. I can't wait to go back and visit these places.

DIY Make-up Brush Holder

Instead of throwing out your candle when its all used up, why not recycle it. I always struggle trying to find ways to store my make-up brushes and then an idea came to me that the candle jar is the perfect size to store my brushes. The only problem was that there was still the wax and wicks where still there, trust me it is not difficult at all. I used a bath and body works candle but any candle in a glass jar would work.

What you need

 ♡ used up candle
 ♡ glitter
 ♡ mod podge
 ♡ nail polish remover
 ♡  foam paint brush
 ♡ knife

Step 1
Start with taking your used up candle and putting it in the freezer for several hours. I left my candle in the freezer over night

Step 2
You will need your candle from the freezer and a knife. Start by going around the wax with the knife and then place the knife in the middle and twist it to crack the wax and then remove the wax.

Step 3
Wash out your candle holder with soap and water just to remove the residue. Also remove the price label and ingredients label on the bottom. It removes easily with water and the knife. The front label just peels off also.

Step 4
If there is any sticky residue left n your candle from the stickers use the nail polish remover and it will easily come off.

Step 5
Take your candle, mod podge and foam paint brush. Evenly paint the inside of the holder with mod podge and then sprinkle glitter on the inside. Turn your holder as you are spreading out the glitter to easily dispense it.

Step 6
After the glitter is evenly around the holder shake off the excess glitter and turn it upside down to dry. It takes about 5 hours of so to dry, your best bet would to be to leave it over night.

Gimmie Brow vs. Brow Drama

High end makeup jumped on the brow band waggon for a few years now and now they have a competitor the drugstore. The drugstore is now coming out with brow products to reach more people as it is more affordable. Two of the more common brow products are the Benefit gimme brow and Maybelline brow drama. Both of theses products are similar in nature, they both have wands with product on them to add color and sculpt your brows. Both products are similar but here are there differences.

Price
   Benefit Gimmie Brow $30
   Maybelline Brow Drama $7-$10

Size
  Benefit Gimmie Brow 0.10oz
  Maybelline Brow Drama 0.23oz

Shade Range
Benefit Gimmie Brow: Light/Medium or Medium/Dark
Maybelline Brow Drama: Blonde, Soft Brown or Deep Brown

Brush
The brush for the gummier brow is a nice size brush and has a nice length wand. The brush size is a good size for your brows and it reminds me of a mascara wand. The brow drama brush is completely different it has a ball on the end. At first it is odd to use but you get use to it. As much as I prefer the size of the gimmie brow, the brush for the brow drama picks up less product which makes it a little easier to apply.

Formula
I do not do much with my brows to begin with because they are dark and are full. I use these products just to fill in my few sparse spots and to keep my brows in place. The formula for the gimmie brow feels light weight and doesn't weight your brows down. It adds a nice bit of color and fills in my sparse areas. It also dries fairly fast also.

Benefit Gimmie Brow

The brow drama I find takes a while to dry and it climbs my brows together. When I started to use it I followed the directions and would brush the product the opposite way my eyebrow hairs grows and then sweep them the way my brows grows. By doing this I found it took a long time to dry and my brows would feel heavy and sometimes clump together. Since my brows are pretty thick I know just comb them the way my hair grows and it works better for me.

Maybelline Brow Drama

Lasting Power
Both of these products have great lasting power, even when I take my makeup off after a 12 hour day both products are still on my brows.

Overall
I like both products each have there ups and downs and I would purchase either. After these products are used up I will repurchase but I believe that I will repurchase the Maybelline Brow Drama just because of the shade range is better for me. Overall I'm happy that the drugstore has starting coming out with brow products as they are more affordable and are more readily available to people.

Just remember that everyone has different opinions. Also everyone has different brow shapes and colors, as well as people may like there products to have different needs then mine. The Gimmie Brow or Brow Drama might work differently with you, and you may prefer a different one then I did.

Blink of an Eye

The day you have been looking forward to your entire life has come and gone in a blink of an eye. A new chapter has opened in your life and you are all of a sudden a "real adult". After my first year of University I made a countdown for when i'll be finished, I couldn't wait to be done school forever. Like most people I changed my mind on my career path once in university and took a year longer to complete university.  I decided 3 years in that I wasn't going to get excepted into education so I should try for something else. Truthfully I am really happy with that choice and am happy with my degree, but down under I still wish I did education or had the guts to move away and do interior design. As some people ask why didn't I do interior design and its because I was terrified to move away, and there is absolutely no market for that type of business where I live.

University is a unique part of your life because you start to figure out who you truly are and who your true friends are. University is a point in time to start a clean slate and meet new people. As many people from my high school all go to the same university, I didn't meet many new people until I was a few years into my degree because you end of taking courses together. I love the friends I made in University and hope to stay in contact with some of them as it is easy to loose track of them as people graduate at different times and get "grown up" jobs. The day I was so looking forward to, the day where you walk across the stage and have 1000s of people looking at you as they call out your name has gone by like a blink of an eye. All the nerves and telling myself don't fall you just have to make it to the other end of the stage, is still there. The nerves are there but for different reasons. I'm not waiting to go across the stage, i'm trying to figure out where my life will take me. I now have to start looking at moving out, buying a car and getting a job (which isn't the easiest). I had the realization that it is very hard to get a job in my field and will probably have to do fly-in, fly-out jobs. As much as I am terrified, I have to realize I am young and this will just be for a little while, it gets my foot in the door for a better job. I am terrified of growing up, but so are a lot of people and I just have to take it day my day.

DIY ombre shoes

Summer is all about color, and little projects so why not take a pair of white canvas shoes and add some color to them. Since making these shoes myself I wear them all the time.

What you will need:

♡  a bucket
♡  white pair of canvas shoes (I got mine at wall-mart for $8)
♡  gloves
♡  tie dye the color of your choice

Steps

Start by taking the laces out of your canvas shoes and soaking them in water. Once your shoes are wet, prepare your dye according the directions. I used Fuchsia Rit dye and it was just warm water and salt. Once your dye is prepared, you want to put on your gloves so you do not dye your hands. Then you want to submerge your entire sneaker into the dye and hold them down for a few seconds. Once it is your desired cover then place only half the shoes back into the dye as shown below.

The part of the sneaker that is submerged will be darker then the rest. I left half the sneaker in the dye for about 1 min, just leave them in until you reach your desired color.

The dye will dry darker then it appears. This was the desired color I wanted, then leave them out to dry completely. Here is the finish project.

Hey! itsKraftyKim

Hey,

This is my first post so I thought I would answer some general questions most people might have.

Who are you?
Well honestly I'm still figuring that out myself. I am from what people would call a small town (its not really that small put to the rest of the cities in the Country its tiny), with the accompanied small town values. I have just graduated from University and trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. Like most people I spent a lot of my time on the Internet and there about 2 years ago I started a youtube channel on a whim with my best friend . Over those 2 years I have grown so much as a person, started my own channel and found a new passion of mine. Just honestly living each day and seeing where it will take me.

Why did I make a blog?
I have always enjoyed writing, but am not very good at it as my writing level is not up to standard with what school grades would call horrible sentence structure, grammar and spelling. As much as i am told my writing is not up to par I decided to ignore what people are saying and start a blog anyway because I enjoy writing.

What will I post?
I will post DIY's pretty regularly as it is something I really enjoy. I love finding new ways to make things or ways to reuse products in the house. I will also post about my travels, and life experiences.

I hope you all stick around and enjoy what is yet to come.
